Morning Session

A review of and discuss code requirements for swimming pools based on the 2021 International Swimming Pool and Spa Code©. This will include identifying types and structural design requirements for swimming pools and diving requirements, the installation of required safety barriers and fences, and the requirements for those issues incidental to swimming pool installations such as deck requirements, electrical fixtures, mechanical circulation, water supplies and disposal.

Lunch will be provided

Afternoon Session

The fundamentals of building, electrical, fire, and site safety as it relates to special events. Students will examine and discuss inspection and code requirements for events such as farmers’ markets, carnivals, concerts, bike races, fun runs, firework shows, parades, fests, and similar events.

Our trainer is Joseph Iliff, Building Code Educator

Bio:  

Joseph Iliff believes that education is the cornerstone of community safety. As a Certified Building Official with more than 15 years of hands-on experience and 21 certifications from the International Code Council, he has spent the last five years bridging the gap between complex code requirements and practical application. He earned a Bachelor of Urban Planning & Development from Ball State University. He is passionate about advancing the building safety industry through equipping code professionals with knowledge, skills, and confidence.
